The Pensions Advisory Service (TPAS) - is an independent non-profit organisatin that provides free information, advice and guidance on the whole spectrum of pensions, including state, company, personal and stakeholder schemes.

The Pensions Regulator – the UK regulator of work-based pension schemes. “Working to improve confidence in work-based pensions by protecting members’ benefits and encouraging high standards and good practice in running pension schemes”.
Pension Protection Fund – established to pay compensation to members of eligible defined benefit pension schemes, where there is a qualifying insolvency event in relation to the employer and where there are insufficient assets in the pensions scheme to cover Pension Protection Fund levels of compensation.
The Pensions Ombudsman – he investigates and determines any complaint or dispute of fact or law that might arise between a beneficiary and a scheme’s trustees or administrators. He should only be approached after an individual has contacted TPAS.
