
Prof JP (Ian) Percy CBE
Appointed 1 April 2007. Ian is independent from the Company and has extensive experience in pension scheme management and governance. He was formerly senior partner of accountants Grant Thornton, president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and chairman of The Accounts Commission for Scotland. He served as a member of the Treasury and DTI Coordinating
Committee on Audit and Accounting
in 2003. He is
deputy chairman of the Weir Group plc and senior
non-executive
director of Cala Group
Limited and
Ricardo plc and
Chairman of two other pension
schemes.
Paul Dollman
Paul is the Company’s Finance Director and has been a Trustee since starting employment with Menzies in
October 2002. He is also a member of the Investment
Sub Committee.
John Burns
John has been the Pensioner Trustee since 2004. John retired as Commercial Director of Distribution division in December 2002 after 19 years service. He is also a member of the Investment Sub Committee.
Reverend Andrew Anderson
Andrew is the longest serving trustee. He has been the Independent Trustee since 1992. He is the Minister of Greenside Parish Church in Edinburgh where he has served for over 25 years. Andrew is a member of the Investment Sub Committee.
John Redmond
John is a Member Nominated Trustee and was appointed on
1 April 2007. He is the Director of UK and Ireland for our Aviation Division. He has worked for the Company for nine years in various roles and is now responsible for the majority of staff in the UK Aviation business. John will be replaced as Member Nominated Trustee over the coming months.
Sheila Drummond
Sheila is a Member Nominated Trustee and was appointed on
1 April 2007. She has over 27 years service with the Company with the majority of her service working in IT development. She now works in the Company’s Distribution division as Business Development Manager.
The Trustees meet four times a year to discuss investment and other matters often with their specialist adviser in attendance.
Their role is:
To be conversant with and act in accordance with the Trust Deed and Rules of the Fund and within the framework of the law;
To act prudently, conscientiously and honestly and with utmost good faith;
To act in the best interests of all classes of beneficiary;
To take advice on technical matters and any other appropriate matters
To invest the assets of the Fund.
All Trustees undertake training when they become a Trustee and throughout their period of office.
The Trustees appoint a number of special advisers to help with the running of the Scheme. The names of these advisers and details of their duties are detailed in the Annual Report and
Accounts of the Scheme.
